Hey everyone,

I'm Ti1m4n, the developer of the game Survive!. Thanks for creating this forum and posting it on the youtube video, thats how I found it. It feel great to see that people still care about this game.
I've recently started working on this again, and I'm doing a complete rewrite on the game. I will not use the "3D Gamestudio A7/ lite-C" 3D-engine and the lite-C programming language any more, but use my own tools. (custem OpenGL engine written in C++, with the SDL library as a base if anyone wants to know)

The first advantages of the new version will be:
- Singleplayer mode from main menu
- (Hopefully) no more bugs (like fake crates and enemies standing around)
- No more server crashes (those are VERY annoying), also a linux server for cheaper hosting
- Linux support (maybe MAC support later), Android support (Ouya console only at first)

Later I will try to add some new features, like more power ups. However, there will not be different levels are a lot more monsters until version 1.0, sorry to disappoint you.

Feel free to comment on this and give suggestions.

Wow! I'm really happy you found our forum! I'm exited to hear you are working on updating the game! I have some suggestions as well:
- dedicated servers (mine is wayy too slow)
- an official facebook page (or something like that)
- admin commands (kicking players, server messages)
- more weapons (maybe just a few more)
- highscore is waves beaten, not points, including all people on the team that got to that wave. The points aren't a super accurate way to hold a highscore. There are some people on a team who might build more than others but still do their part in getting to a wave
Don't ruin the simplicity of the game, it's great as it is!

Once again, I really appreciate you making this post. It means a lot to all of us!

I'll see if I can get dedicated servers up, it'll be much cheaper on linux. Also, the CPU-Utilization will be a lot lower than it is in version 7.1.

There are already admin commands, while you have selected the white server windows, press "k" then a number to kick a player, or "b" to ban a player.

Highscore changes make sense, I guess I will track points and waves.

I'll see what i can do about more weapons. I have plans to add explosive crates, so that might add a little more depth to the game.

I run my server on linux using wine Smile
I suppose an acual linux server would be better. What I mean by admin commands is ones you can do ingame for example:

/kick (player)
/ban (player)
/votekick (player)

But just make sure this game stays simple. I like complicated games but my friend Vair and I do like for the simple, fun indie games to stay simple and fun. Some of the updates to minecraft did nota maka ma friend happy. Thanks again though for considering our various pointers for your game. In the end it is yours though so do what you like with it and have a good time doing it. Probably whatever you do we will still have fun playing this game.

there should be afk kick after 3 mins inactive, i hate when some players are afk when you need help

Teamwork is so essential to this game, I don't think a chat ingame is enough. Microphone support would be nice.

i ' m really excited of new version and android suport. i hope there will be new monsters, blocks,weapons and maps. there should be too some objects in map like houses and cars

Hey, its always a great motivation to work when someone posts something like this Smile. But dont expect anything before the end of January. I will probably release a testing version that won't have all features here in this forum in that time frame. The full update will probably be released later

For Survive! 1.0 there will not be another map, and no objects. That doesn't fit in the current gameplay. There might be new monsters or blocks, maybe another weapon. There will be more powerups (but not right in the next update).

Hope I could clarify some things.
